You can order it in a good coffee shop or prepare it yourself at home. This article will explain how to make cold brew and give you an idea of its characteristics. It is not complicated at all, so even inexperienced or novice coffee drinkers should be able to handle it easily.

How to prepare Cold Brew?

It is safe to say that it is a trivial matter to brew a cold brew. However, brewing should be taken in inverted commas, as only cold water is used. The main thing is to soak the ground coffee for several hours. This is the only way to extract the full flavour from the ground coffee. This produces some really interesting effects, which we will talk about in a moment. If you want to prepare a true cold brew coffee, choose beans that are designed for alternative methods. Coffees from Colombia, Burundi, Ethiopia and Kenya will work well. It is worth mentioning that coffees from these regions are characterised by a refreshing, fruity and light taste. A cold coffee drink is perfectly refreshing. You will need a vessel of some sort, a grinder, a scale, and clean and filtered water. Keep in mind that there is no one right recipe for cold brew coffee. Don't be afraid to experiment, as this is the only way to find out what you like best. For our recipe you will need 80g of coffee, coarsely ground, and 1 litre of cold, filtered and clean water. You can pour the ground coffee into a pot and pour in the water. Mix everything together, then cover the vessel with foil and put it in the fridge. After 7 - 8 hours of cold macerating the coffee, the results will definitely be the best. However, some recipes say 10 hours, so you need to adjust this to your own preferences. However, it is important to mention that after macerating for too long, the coffee can be dirty tasting and heavy. Once the appropriate amount of time has elapsed, pour the coffee through a filter. The choice of coffee filters is very large, so everyone can find something for themselves without too much trouble. It is best to grind the coffee yourself or choose a product from a tried and tested and reputable manufacturer that has been on the market for many years and has a positive reputation. Cold brew coffee tastes completely different from regular coffee. It is not only devoid of a fair amount of acidity, but also of bitterness. There is not a lot of work involved and the results are very interesting, so it is definitely worth trying. It is a strong, caffeinated kick for the rest of the day. If you are looking for something crisp and fruity then you can choose cascara instead of coffee. These are dried coffee cherries that have a powerful aroma. You actually only need 50g of dried cherries per water filter. Follow the same steps as for brewing coffee cold, but the time may be a little longer here, so don't be afraid to keep the drink several hours in the fridge. This will give you a pleasantly sour, fragrant drink that is somewhat reminiscent of compote. You can add honey or citrus slices to it. A good quality green or herbal tea with additives will also be suitable for a cold brew made at home. You need 20 - 30g of tea per litre of cold water. It is worth knowing that the steeping time depends on the type of tea. If you are brewing pure dried fruit or herbal teas for cold brew then the steeping time can be as long as 24 hours. You can safely add a few ice cubes to any of these wonderful drinks.
