Many people cannot imagine starting their day without a cup of coffee. They also reach for it during a break at work. This is to increase productivity. It has been known for many years that coffee reduces fatigue. It is no wonder that some people reach for it for a stimulating effect. Scientific studies confirm impact of caffeine on brain function. An increase in alertness, a surge of energy and accelerated reaction time can be noted. Coffee has an effect on many mental functions.

Why has coffee at work become something almost essential?

Coffee has become an indispensable element at work. This is largely due to the fact that it enhances mental performance. The caffeine present in it stimulates the central nervous system. Reaching for coffee is thought to improve brain function. Scientific studies confirm an increase in alertness, attention and concentration. This effect can be achieved after just one cup of coffee. Caffeine therefore serves to increase productivity, which is particularly important in shift work. Caffeine is great for repetitive tasks. However, care must be taken, because too much caffeine has the opposite effect, i.e. it reduces productivity. This is due to overstimulation of the nervous system.

Coffee is most often resorted to in the event of a sleepless night, a sleep deficit. Of course, this is only an emergency measure. Nothing can replace rest. However, one can count on increased alertness after drinking caffeine. This is particularly important when performing professional duties at night. Coffee is also often taken at lunchtime. The reason for this is that after eating a meal, one becomes sleepy, which naturally reduces productivity. A cup of coffee, on the other hand, increases concentration and improves cognitive abilities. One can continue to concentrate on the task at hand without feeling tired. Of course, effect of caffeine is limited in time. The frequent coffee method will also not work, as there will be an overdose of caffeine and a deterioration in performance.

How does coffee affect employee productivity?

It turns out that coffee has a positive effect on the learning process. It speeds it up. You can therefore count on better absorption of new information. This effect can be achieved after just two cups of coffee. It is good to know that reaching for coffee reduces the problem of forgetting. This is because caffeine improves short-term memory. It is easy to guess that this is of great importance at work. It is easier to adapt to a new environment and the efficiency of the tasks performed increases. Every employer wants to increase productivity at work, so it is important to provide a coffee break. Espresso works best, so it's a great idea to invest in a good quality coffee brewing machine. It needs to be intuitive to use, allowing you to make several cups of coffee at once.

As you know, time is of the essence at work. The break is only a few minutes long. It is also used to attend to one's physiological needs, to consume, to chat with colleagues. Taking a break from work and having a nice time gives the mind a break. It turns out that coffee drinking increases creativity. Any employer will appreciate out-of-the-box thinking in employees. Just spending time with co-workers over coffee has a positive effect on relationships, strengthening bonds, overcoming social and professional barriers. It is a great opportunity to have casual conversations. Coffee reduces the feeling of stress. It also contains antioxidants that protect the brain from damage. They counteract the development of neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive decline.

In which coffee drinks is caffeine found in the greatest quantities?

Coffee drinks can have different caffeine content. If someone is hoping for a greater boost, they should opt for a double shot of espresso. There is also a lot of caffeine in a double shot latte. A cup of filter coffee also has a lot of caffeine. In order to increase productivity at work, one can confidently reach for instant coffee. It is also important to bear in mind that every body has a different tolerance to caffeine. Do not overdo it or you will end up with the opposite effect. A person who consumes too much caffeine will experience symptoms in the form of anxiety, nausea and sleep problems.

According to the recommendations, the daily dose of 400 mg of caffeine should not be exceeded. This amount is already obtained after drinking three double shots of espresso. It is also worth knowing that there are several factors that determine the caffeine content of coffee. The type of beans used, the level of roasting and the method of measurement are all important. Even the way the coffee is brewed is important. Robusta beans contain as much as twice as much caffeine as arabica beans. Coffee exclusively based on robusta, however, is too bitter, so few derive pleasure from drinking it. However, it is worth paying attention to the percentage of each type of bean used when choosing coffee for work.
