How much is the daily dose of caffeine?

How many cups of coffee can an adult drink without harming themselves? It is accepted that a safe dose for an adult is 300-400 mg of caffeine per day. That is 3-4 cups of coffee. However, if one is in the habit of making very strong coffee, it will not be 3-4 cups, but one or two. Caffeine poisoning is said to occur when someone consumes more than 2000 mg per day. Caffeine can therefore be overdosed and it is worth being aware of this. Can a pregnant woman drink coffee? If the pregnancy is developing normally, there is no reason for a woman to give up drinking coffee. Usually, the gynaecologist recommends no more than one, possibly two cups a day. A larger dose could have a bad effect on the foetus. It is worth remembering that caffeine is also found in other foods. Particular care should be taken with popular fizzy drinks, which also have a stimulating effect and a lot of sugar in their ingredients.

A small espresso, on the other hand, contains around 65 mg of this stimulant. It is not worth denying yourself a cup of coffee on a good morning or a cup after lunch. However, it is worth being aware of what caffeine is and how it affects people. The scientific world recommends the consumption of coffee, but sometimes there are contraindications.
